Asante Kotoko first-choice goalkeeper Felix Annan is anticipating tougher competition from the CAF Confederation Cup Group C.
Kotoko eliminated Kariobangi Sharks and Coton Sport de Garoua to reach the group stages.
The Ghanaian side were drawn into the same group as Zambian duo Zesco United and Nkana FC as well as Sudan’s Al-Hilal Club and Annan who has played every minute in the competition believes the group stage will be harder.
“For us it’s really important that we improve our performance. Going into the Coton Sport game, we had played the Kariobangi Sharks game in Kenya so the Coton Sport match was an improvement for us.” he told FootballmadeinGhana.com in an exclusive interview.
“Whatever stage you reach, the harder and more difficult its gets so the Coton Sport game will be different from the Al-Hilal game and the subsequent games in the group stage because these are Champions league clubs who have been in the CAF competitions for many years recently so we know its not going to be easy.” he added.
Kotoko travel to Khartoum on February 3rd as visitors of Al-Hilal in the opening match-day of the 2018/19 Confederation Cup group stages.
