Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association Oti Akenteng attended the seminar organized by CAF for technical directors of all associations on the continent.
The seminar which took place from 22-24 January 2019, was geared towards re-establishing the CAF coaching courses, and will also equip participants with the right tools to develop coaching and grassroots football in their respective countries.
Topics covered included the Role of the Technical Director, the Organization of the Technical Development Department, Coaching Convention, FIFA Forward Application and Plan amongst others.
According to Nasser Larguet, CAF Technical & Development Committee member, the main objective of the seminar was to equip member associations with the requisite tools to develop a vision for their football.
“The main objective of this seminar is to have a common vision across all the MAs in Football development.
“We need to make sure that all the principal actors involved in football development share a unified vision regarding the content, evaluation criteria and coaches’ recruitment,” he told CAFonline.com
“It is very important to have almost all the MA’s represented at the seminar,” he added.
The Ghana FA technical director who has been in the position for over a decade is expected to restructure and redesign the technical direction of football in the country.
In attendance was another proud son of Ghana Anthony Baffoe who is the Deputy General Secretary of CAF.
Anthony Baffoe described the seminar as a key milestone towards re-establishing the CAF coaching courses, and will also equip participants with the right tools to develop coaching and grassroots football in their respective countries.
