Motivating a team to achieve optimum performance is a very crucial area in football and clubs will do everything to ginger their players to produce the best of results but former Ghana international defender Issah Ahmed who represented the Black Stars at the 2006 African Cup of Nations says a packed stadium was all he needed to perform well during his playing days.
The former Porcupine Warrior was speaking on Kumasi-based Silver FM where he backed C.K Akonnor and his charges to make more history in the Confederation Cup.
According to the “Rock” , big crowd gave him more force to perform well during his Kotoko days and challenges the Kotoko fans to keep to fill the stadium as the team starts group play in the Confederation Cup next month.
“When I talk about motivation I mean fans trooping to the stadium to watch the games. Those days when I come to the stadium to play and I see big crowd, that is enough motivation for me.”
“I never want to lose games in front of big crowd and so when I see the numbers in the stands, that charges me up to deliver big performances and that is what I want to see from the current Kotoko team”.
