Ashantigold trio James Akaminko , Mumuni Shafiu and Richard Dodji were officially pursued by the Confederation Cup campaigners but Chief Executive Officer of the Miners Frederick Acheampong says his players are not interested in joining Asante Kotoko.
Kotoko officially asked about the availability of the three players but club president Kwaku Frimpong slapped a $500 000 price tag on Mumuni, effectively fending off C.K Akonnor’s team.
“We met the payers in question and asked them about the interest from Kotoko but they told us they are never interested in playing for Kotoko. They told us what they want is to get transfered abroad.” Frederick Achemapong told Oyerepa FM.
“Some of the players have said on radio they will welcome a move Kotoko but that is for the airwaves. The truth of the matter is they don’t like Kotoko. They are okay with us and if they will move, it has to be abroad.” He added.
Meanwhile Ashantigold winger Amos Addai left the country on Tuesday and is set to complete a move to Russian side Nizhny Novgorod.
