Picking a ticket to the U20 World Cup in Poland later this year is the target for Ghana U20 star Kudus Mohammed ahead of the U20 AFCON in Niger next month.
The Nordsjaelland midfielder is targeting a World Cup qualification in the upcoming African U20 Championship in Niger.
The Black Satellite left Ghana for a two-week training camp in Niger ahead of the U20 AFCON in February.
Speaking to the media before they left for Niger, Kudus stated that, the main objective of the team is to qualify for the World Cup in Poland, before thinking about lifting the trophy.
“Our objective is to bring the trophy home. That is the main goal.
“But first to qualify for the World Cup and when we qualify and then we will look forward to bringing the trophy home,” Kudus noted.
The former Right to Dream Academy midfielder also touched on the importance of the training camp in Niger and the spirit of unity among the players.
“We have been preparing for this tournament since we qualified. We are going to play some friendly games in Niger. Is very good. Because it’s a different setting, different weather, different food and culture.
“All these play part in the game. So it’s good we go there for some few days to prepare for the AFCON.”
The Black Satellites have lost their first friendly game this afternoon against the tournament host Niger.
