C.K. Akonnor’s desire to secure Dreams FC midfielder Emmanule Eli Keke to strengthen the Kotoko midfield for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup has hit the snag, FootballMadeInGhana.com can reveal.
The former Dreams FC manager had requested for the intelligent midfielder to augment his squad for the current campaign but the midfielder is unavailable.
Eli Keke, 23, has been in the country for the winter holidays and is expected to rejoin his club Olafsvik Vikigur in Iceland in the coming days.
FootballMadeInGhana understands that CK Akonnor inquired about the availability of the player to strengthen his side for the Confederation Cup but was told the players can’t play for Kotoko because he has a contract with his club.
Following the unavailability of Eli Keke, Asante Kotoko are reported to have turned attention to AshGold’s James Akaminko and negotiations are ongoing.
The MTN FA Cup Most Promising player in 2015 was recently voted the best player in the Icelandic second tier.
