Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo inspired KRC Genk to register a 3-2 away win over Sint-Truiden to open a ten-point gap on top of the Belgium League table.
The in-form Ghanaian defender lasted the entre duration of the game as he aggressively guided his side from dropping points.
The home side drew first blood under just two minutes through Botaka but Tanzanian international Mbwana Alli Samantta restored parity for the visitors on the half hour mark.
Aidoo was forced to make a timely clearance on the stroke of half time to stop the home side from taking the lead before the break.
The home side restored their lead again through Boli with 20 minutes to end proceedings but Aidoo’s side restored parity again five minutes later before stealing the win with a beautiful strike ten minute to end the game.
The last ten minutes was a hell for the visitors as Sint-Truiden piled unstoppable pressure on them but Aidoo’s ingenuity and intelligence guided his side to victory.
His timely clearances and aggression at the back coupled with his aerial dominance prevented the home side form picking even a point in the game.
Despite an incredible outing so far this season, Aidoo is yet to attract the attention of Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah to feature for the Black Stars.
Aidoo was recently named in UEFA Europa XI for the year 2018.
