Ghanaian defender, Yakubu “Leftey” Issahaku is inches awy from joining Egyptian side Wadi Degla, FootballMadeInGhana.com can reveal.
Leftey, as he is affectionately called, is set to sign a 3-year deal with the Community Champions.
Yakubu is believed to have landed the deal after an impressive 6 months stint with Ergotelis F.C in Greece.
He becomes Wadi Degla’s second winter signing after Ahmed Ramadan Beckham from Al Ahly and the second player to join the club from Ergotelis this season after Greece’s Vasilios Bouzas.
His signing comes after Wadi Degla left-back, Sayed Salem was linked in a move to Ittihad of Alexandria as he enters the final six months of his contract.
The energetic player who hails from Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana was born on
June 17, 1994 (24) and started his football career with JMG Academy in Ghana before joining Lierse SK U19 in the 2015/16 and got promoted to the senior side same year where he spent 2 years and featured in 61 games for the Belgium side.
He joined Greek side, Ergotelis F.C in 2018, featured in 11 games, assisted 5 goals and scored 1 goal for his team.
