The sixteen (16) Premier League clubs have reached an agreement to participate in the Special Competition of the Ghana FA but with a modified format.
A meeting between the Normalisation Committee and the aggrieved clubs on Tuesday morning has achieved its aim of getting the Special Competition underway with the involvement of clubs in the top flight.
Sources have told FootballMadeinGhana.com that the Normalisation Committee has abandoned its entrenched position to concede on the legitimate issues raised by the clubs.
The Normalisation Committee has agreed to let the sixteen (16) Premier League clubs compete amongst themselves for the prospective CAF Champions League slot.
While a compeition, fashioned along the lines of the FA Cup is played involving the Division One and Premier League clubs is also played to determine Ghana’s representative in the Confederation Cup.
The Normalisation Committee has also abandoned its idea of paying incentives or bonuses directly to players as they have now agreed to route such payments rightfully through the clubs.
Discussions would however continue to be held over how the woefully inadequate appearance fee promised to clubs for the Special Competition can be upped.
A new date for the start of the competition which will now take place in February is to be announced soon by the Ghana FA
