The National Circles Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kwaku Amponsah K5 has called the bluff of notorious fan Seidu over threats of sacking CK Akonnor following a draw with AshGold last weekend.
Seidu who physically blocked former Kotoko coach Dzravko Lugarosic from training leading to the subsequent termination of the gaffer’s contract waged a similar campaign against CK Akonnor who was appointed less than 4 months ago.
The notorious Kotoko fan in a radio outburst claimed the supporters decide who coaches the club hence his campaign to get the 4-months old coach sacked.
But after a wonderful display in Cameroon leading to their 3-2 win over Coton Sport Garoua in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off, K5 has publicly rubbished Seidu’s rants, insisting he can’t sack CK Akonnor.
“It’s not true he can sack CK. If he claims supporters are responsible for the sacking of coaches, who sacked Paa Kwesi Fabin? If he can’t say same about Paa Kwesi, then he should forget it,” K5 said on Asempa FM.
Seidu’s rants were borne out of the club’s inability to beat a strong AshGold side in the JA Kufour Cup a week ago when the two sides shared the spoils.
Seidu is noted for physically attacking journalists and coaches but has always managed to escape the claws of the law anytime he perpetrates such acts.
