Asante Kotoko have been forced to abandon plans to use the commercial aircraft of their Chairman for their trip to Cameroon to play Cotton Sport in the Confederation Cup this weekend.
This was due to the aircraft’s inability to secure the requisite clearance to fly outside the shore of Ghana.
Kotoko chairman Dr. Kwamy Kyei late last year launched his Unity airline which is originally certified commercially fly within Ghana.
There were however attempts to get the aircraft cleared for international trips purposely for Kotoko to use as a charter for a round trip to Cameroon.
These attempts to have the 30-passenger aircraft cleared has however been turned down.
This means Kotoko must now make alternative arrangements to have their team airlifted to Cameroon for the first leg of the playoff tie against Cotton Sport.
