Nana Yaw Amponsah has given up his job as a FIFA Intermediary in order to be eligible to contest the Presidency of the Ghana FA.
The chairman of second tier club Phar Rangers has declared his intentions to run for the GFA too job and has been campaigning on the quiet.
There were however doubts over the eligibility of the Sports Lawyer due to his role as a FIFA Intermediary.
This put him on conflict and would automatically disqualify him from the contest.
Amponsah has now confirmed relinquishing his job as an intermediary to enable him carry on with him ambition of becoming the next GFA boss.
“I am no longer a FIFA Intermediary,” he told Asempa FM.
“This would have put me in conflict as I will be contesting the GFA Presidency.
“So for almost a year now I have had to relinquish that my job.”
Elections for the GFA President is expected to be held on March 31, 2019 when the Normalisation Committee’s mandate given to it by FIFA comes to an end.
