George Amoako has revealed the club spent more than GHS 288 000 in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup game against Kariobangi Sharks.
According to the Chief Executive Officer for the club competing in Africa comes with lot of cost and also urged the fans to do well and troop to the stadium on Saturday as management seek to boost the financial strength of club.
“I’m urging the fans to come to the stadium on Saturday and support the team. We know the gate charges are high. But we need to manage and pay. We spent a lot of money during the first leg. Provisionally we spent about GHS 288, 447 in our game against Kariobangi” He told the media at a press briefing.
“We need the money to cover some cost. The fans should try and come to the stadium. In all we are budgeting about GHS 417,000. If the fans don’t come then things will be difficult for us”
George Amoako also hinted that, the gate charges could rise in subsequent games when the team progress to the next stage of the competition.
” This is just Kenya, What will you say when we start to visit Algeria And Tunisia. There is a chance that the money could rise as we progress. We need to convince the fans to come no matter the amount. Unless you are telling us to stop playing in Africa”
