Kariobangi Sharks Head Coach William Muluya is sure that his charges can beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday after their midweek league win over Sony Sugar.

The Porcupine Warriors drew goalless with Sharks in the Caf Confederations Cup knockout stage first leg in Nairobi over the weekend and Muluya is convinced that they can upset Kotoko in Ghana after defeating Sony Sugar on Tuesday.

“Getting a win despite not playing really well is encouraging. The players understood the emergency at hand and after a barren draw in the first half responded really well in the second half. They (Sony) beat us 2-0 last season and we, therefore, had to go for it (the win),” Muluya stated after the league game win over Sony Sugar on Tuesday.

“This is good motivation for us heading to the return leg tie against Kotoko in Ghana. We shall be playing away but I am sure we are going to win. Sometimes playing away is easier than playing at home. The players understand the magnitude of the match and I am sure they will deliver.”

Kariobangi Sharks are expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday.
