Ghana U20 duo Maxwell Arthur and Abdul Karim Sualihu are doubtful for the must win game against Nigeria at the ongoing WAFU Championships in Togo.
The Black Satellites need to beat Nigeria on Wednesday in order to progress to the semi finals of the tournament.
Ghana had lost its opening group game against Niger by a lone goal.
And following the withdrawal of Benin from the competition coupled with the goalless draw between Niger and Nigeria, Ghana is left with no option but to win or phase early elimination.
The Black Satellites’ camp has however been hit with malaria as both Maxwell Arthur and Abdul Karim Sualihu did not participate in the team’s final training session on Tuesday.
Deputy coach Nuru is also down with the same illness.
It is at this time unclear whether the two players will be available for Wednesday’s game.
