Accra Hearts of Oak are looking forward to sign former captain of West African Football Academy Alhassan Mohammed who is a free agent.
The highly-rated center back left Sogakope following the expiration of his contract last month and after signing goalkeeper Richmond Ayi last Friday, the Phobians have are now chasing Alhassan who spent more than a full season with Ayi at the academy club.
Kim Grant has identified weaknesses in the central defence of the team the team has asked the management of the club to sign the WAFA defender to solve that problem.
Hearts of Oak lost three of their central defenders within a year. Ruben Gnagne left the club after his contract with the club ended whilst Inusah Musah left to Petro Athletico in Angola as a free agent and Richard Akrofi was also released some months ago.
If the deal succeeds, Alhassan will thus provide big competition for Benjamin Agyare and James Sewornu.
