Asante Kotoko released an official statement on Friday November 30 to discredit media reports that suggested tension existed within the management of the club but FootballmadeinGhana.com is told by sources whilst George Amoako never threatened to resign from his post he however wants policy analyst Yaw Amoh Sarpong to stay within his lane.
The manager of Strike in charge of Africa markets – Ricardo Jorge Pereira Baptista Da Piedade – was in Ghana last week for a working visit at Kotoko to interact with management of the club but Mr. Amoako – who feels sidelined believes the right procedure was not followed for Ricardo’s arrival in Ghana.
He has also gone on to question why Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko appeared in the picture the club’s official handle tweeted on November 27 as he thinks it could have been done in a much better and more professional way.
Ideally when the a top official of a club’s kit sponsor pays a visit he is suppose to be seen with the upper echelon of the club’s management but in this case it was Amoh Sarpong that was seen everywhere with the Strike official.

“The management of Asante Kotoko has received with shock, speculations running in the media that there is a bad blood among members of the management team and that things have deteriorated to the extent that the chief executive officer has threatened to resign if things should continue this way,” the club statement said on November 30.
“Management wishes to state categorically, without any ambiguity, that these speculations are false and must be treated with the contempt they deserve.”
“There are absolute unity, peace, and tranquility in the team and it remains focused in its quest to restore the club to its rightful position in the game of football.”
“Mr. George Amoakoh has at no point, in the discharge of his duties as the club’s CEO, complained of unfair treatment and neither has he showed any signs of being frustrated by any member of the team.”
Whilst the club quickly moved to create a positive picture with this PR , FootballmadeinGhana.com reliably understands the existence of the mini friction in the Kotoko management specifically regarding the arrival of the official of kit makers Strike , some six days ago.
