Asante Kotoko have been handed a walkover over Cameroonian opposition in the preliminary round of the 2018/19 Confederation Cup, CAF has announced.
The African soccer governing body announced the decision on Saturday as Kotoko were scheduled to welcome the winner of the 2018 Cameroon Cup final between either Eding Sport or Lion Blessé but till today no confirmed date has been given by Cameroonian authorities for the Cup final to take place.
The Porcupine Warriors advances to the first round and will meet the winner of the tie between Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya and Arts/Solar 7 from Djibouti.
ℹ: Matches #37&38 are cancelled, because the deadline for @FecafootOfficie 🇨🇲 to confirm the engagement of second rep. for Total CAF Confederation Cup has elapsed. Asante Kotoko 🇬🇭 is therefore qualified to the 1/16th round.#TotalCAFCC
