Ghana coach Bashir Hayford says he will leave it late to decide on whether to play goalkeeper Patricia Mantey or not in the final group game against Cameroon on Friday.
Mantey is reported to have picked a knock even before the start of the 2018 AWCON.
She aggravated this injury in Ghana’s 2-1 defeat against Mali and is now doubtful for the must-win game against Cameroon.
“The goalkeeper [Mantey] had some knocks before we came down from Kenya,” Hayford told reported on Thursday.
“Out of the three goalkeepers she is the number one and there is no doubt about that.
“The medical team have done a good job on her.
“In the last game, with the penalty she got a knock on her hand and as at now, she is 60% fit.
“I can’t tell if she will be in the post or not for tomorrow, we will wait until the final training to decide.”
Mantey came in for some criticisms for her role in Ghana’s defeat to Mali.
Many believed she should have dealt with the aerial ball that resulted in the second goal against Ghana.
