Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah has ordered the bonuses of the Black Queens be doubled for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
This move according to insiders in the Ghana camp is to motivate the team into realizing their ambition of winning the tournament for the first time on home soil.
The bonus structure has however been fixed towards enhancing performance and results.
The team will not be receiving bonuses for winning individual matches at the group stage but rather when receive a qualification bonus.
Once qualification is secured from the group stage, bonuses for all three matches shall be added, doubled and paid to the entire contingent.
Officials are making all efforts to ensure the team is in the right stead to clinch the trophy.
Ghana started its campaign with a hard fought 1-0 win over Algeria at the renovated Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The Black Queens will next take to the field against Mali on Tuesday.
