Kumasi Asante Kotoko will know the exact opponents they will face in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2018/19 Confederation Cup on Sunday November 25 when Lion Blesse and Eding Sport compete in the 2018 Cameroon Cup final but it has been revealed President Paul Biya is the rerason why the Cup final has not been played earlier.
The Cameroon Cup final was initially scheduled to take place on 17 October 2018 and was to be graced by the President elect Paul Biya who was re-elected on 7 October for another seven-year term. This could have handed the Cameroonian representatives the luxury of 42 days to prepare for the African campaign.
But because the President of the country could not find time to attend the final it resulted in the postponement of the decider between Lion Blesse and Eding Sport and now the Cup winner – to be known on November 25 – will only have 48 hours of rest before taking on Asante Kotoko on November 28 at the Babayara sports stadium.
Lion Blessé de Fotouni and Lékié’s Eding sport will do battle on November 25 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde in the 2018 Cameroon Cup final which is the second highest competition in the country.
