Ghana head coach Kwesi Appiah has named Fenerbahce’s Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace and BBC African footballer of the year contender Thomas Partey in his starting formation against Ethiopia on the occasion of Day 5 of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series but there was no place for captain Asamoah Gyan on the start list.
The game kicks off at 1:00PM Ghana time.
The Black Stars are third on the Group F standings with three points but a win over the Ethiopians will take them to second on six points as Kenya ,who will play Sierra Leone on Sunday, lead the group on seven points.
Andre who is deputy Ghana captain will put on the captain’s armband as Gyan starts from the bench.
Ghana’s double header against the Leone Stars was cancelled following a FIFA suspension against Sierra Leone and CAF is yet to to announce a decision on that.
