Former Ghana international Michael Essien will be playing in the Wembley Cup invitational football tournament with a new format.

The tournament which is sponsored by EE has taken a new format which will see ex-international stars battling YouTube stars.

The special event which is in its fourth year will see the final being played at the Wembley Stadium in England on November 25.

So far, French legends Robert Pires and David Trezeguet, as well as Brazilian icon Cafu and Ghana’s Michael Essien have all confirmed their participation..

They four soccer greats will be in four different teams namely social media influencers, which will include Spencer Owen (Hashtag United), F2Freestylers (F2 FC), Calfreezy (Rebel FC) and WillNE and Stephen Tries (XO).
