Columbus Crew central defender Jonathan Mensah says he has absolute confidence in their goalkeeper Zack Steffen ahead of their knockout game with DC United this evening.
The Ghanaian international is suspended for the game but he insists he has so much hope in their young shot stopper to make the difference.
“He’s one of the best goalies in the league, and he’s part of our defense,” Mensah said. “He sees everything behind us, and his communication is always good for us and really helps us. So wherever he directs us, we always listen. We make his job easy, and I’m sure he thinks he makes our job easy. So working together with him brings out the best in us.”
“I have every believe in him, he is a good goalkeeper and will live up to expectation today if he gets the nod,”
“DC United are obviously on fire, we are going to have to put out those fires and prevent them from doing anything.” Mensah added.
The Ghanaian defender is expected to feature in the next game if Crew sail through.
