Juliet Appiah is the only Ghanaian included in the list of referees for the upcoming Africa Women’s Nations Cup.
The 29-year-old is the only Ghanaian to make it into the 13-member list announced by CAF on Tuesday.
Appiah’s inclusion gives a glimmer of hope for Ghanaian referees amidst the bribery and corruption scandal that has hit the industry locally.
Over fifty officiating officials were caught in various unethical acts of bribery by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Over fifteen Ghanaian referees have since been handed various degrees of bans following the premiering of the investigative documentary.
Appiah is one of the few female referees to officiate in the Ghana Premier League.
