GHALCA is proposing an increase in the number of national league clubs (Premier and Division One) members on the Ghana FA Executive Committee.

This proposal is contained in the report of the Special Committee set up to propose reforms to Ghana football.

The report of the committee which ended its work on Monday is being circulated to GHALCA members ahead of next week’s General Assembly.

The committee is proposing an increase of national league clubs representation on the GFA’s Executive Committee from ten (10) to fourteen (14).

According to the committee, this amendment is important to give proportional representation of Congress to the Executive Committee.

The amendment goes on to propose that the election of national league clubs representatives onto the GFA Executive Committee are conducted under the auspices of GHALCA as it was done predating the new GFA Statutes that came into force in 2005.

Eight of the proposed 14 representatives, per the committee’s report, shall be from the Premier League while the remaining six is drawn from Division One – with each zone in the Division One League contributing two.

The GHALCA members are to study the report of the Special Committee ahead of General Assembly meeting which will decide on final draft to be submitted to the Normalisation Committee of the GFA.
