No Ghanaian club will participate in the CAF Champions League or the Confederations Cup next year.
The decision not to allow any Ghanaian club to participate in Africa was taken at a consultative meeting between the Normalisation Committee and the national league clubs (Premier and Division One Clubs) on Friday.
The decision was settled on through consensus following series of banter by participants with some of the clubs thinking otherwise.
Some clubs in the minority advocated forĀ clubs with good financial standings to represent the country in Africa but their opinion were outweighed by the majority who were of the view that going to Africa should not be the priority for now as the main thing is to get domestic competitions started.
The Ghana Premier League came to an abrupt end in June this year following investigations by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Corruption in the Ghanaian game and domestic football has been dead since then.
Medeama SC who were leading the league log were interested in representing the country in the CAF Champions League whilst second-place Ashanti Gold as well as Kotoko were eyeing the Confederations Cup slot but the Normalisation Committee maintains that no club will will play in any CAF Competition.
