The 37-year old former Phobia defender last played for Accra Great Olympics but is ready to wear the rainbow colors again should the club offer him an opportunity.
Dan Quaye represented Hearts of Oak between 1999 and 2009 winning the Champions league and Confederation Cup with the Continental Club Masters but Quaye believes he still has a lot of good football in him despite his age.
“The club has to change its mentality regarding we the old players. Their thinking is that the old players influence the decisions of the young players in the team and that is why most Ghanaian clubs hardly sign old players.” Dan Quaye told Footballmadeinghana in an interview.
“The young players of today know what is good and and bad for them already and I so I don’t think it is we the old guys that influence them.” the experienced full-back said.
“I am always training and ready to help the team again. You all saw what myself, Richard Kingson, Attram did at Great Olympics two seasons ago. ”
“People were even saying we were better than the young ones and this is what I mean. The experience players have lot to give but unfortunately our clubs don’t see it that way”
“I haven’t retired. I am always training since Olympics got relegated. I can still play even better and I’m not boasting” he added.
Quaye is one of the most decorated Ghanaian defenders and also played for Chinese sides Chongqing Lifan and Yanbian FC.
