Public Relations Officer of Aduana Stars has said the club will not stand the way of the center back if he decides to leave the Champions.
Stephen Anokye Badu, who on Monday, disclosed he will be out of contract in three weeks time, has expressed a strong desire to join his former defensive partner Wahab Adams at Asante Kotoko.
The Ghanaian champions are currently locked up in negotiations with the defender who has asked for an improved contract from his employers but Evans Oppong has said the club will not force any player to stay in Dormaa against their will.
“We won’t force any player to be with us. We are going to respect the decision of the player should he decide to leave us. This is football and movements are not news.” Oppong told Kumasi-based Silver FM in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.
“We have made our intentions very clear to keep the player that is why we are negotiating and so if he doesn’t agree we will respect his decision” he added.
Seth Opare and Wahab Adams have all joined Asante Kotoko directly from the Ogya side as free agents and Badu has publicly expressed admiration for the Porcupine Warriors.
