The people of Sierra Leone are happy about FIFA suspending them from all its organized competitions and believe it will sanitize their system as far as football is concerned according to the Sierra Leonean press.

The Bureau of the FIFA Council decided on Friday, October 5, to suspend the Sierra Leonean Football Association (SLFA) with immediate effect due to government interference but according to Amadu Lamrana Bah who works with Multimedia, citizens of Sierra Leone are okay with the suspension.

“The Citizens of Sierra Leone are happy that FIFA has suspended us and believe it will help sanitize their game of football.

The Government has distant itself from the FIFA suspension and has written to FIFA that they acted on the work of the country’s Anti-corruption body so there is no way he can interfere in the work of the country’s of the Anti-corruption body”

“FIFA has given us a road map to follow to make peace with our football”

“The SLFA Chairperson has been fighting the Government over her investigations”

“The National team players are sad and disturbed including the technical team
because of the FIFA suspension

“The team trained yesterday ahead of their game against the Black Stars but didn’t train today because of the suspension

“FIFA is not a credible body that is why they always take decision to ban member countries who tries to fight the corrupt FA Presidents

“FIFA takes Africans for granted because you will see Spain and other European countries arresting its FA Members but FIFA will not ban them but will only ban African countries if we try to investigate corrupt people, African Journalist should write articles about it” Amadu Lamrana Bah of Star TV/ Radio and also the President of the Sierra Leone reporters Union told AGYENKWA FM.
