Ismaily have lodged an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports in an attempt to overturn a FIFA ruling ordering them to pay a percentage of the reported $1.5m received for the transfer of John Antwi to Al Shabab to Dreams FC.
The Egyptian club were ordered to make this payment by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee earlier this year.
Ismaily had refused to pay Dreams FC its share of its onward transfer entitlements in the move of John Antwi to Al Shabab in 2016.
This led the Ghanaian club into lodging an official complaint at FIFA of which it eventually succeeded after months of back-and-forth.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee ruled in favour of Dreams FC and ordered Ismaily to make the payments plus all accruing interests or suffer sanctions including point deductions, transfer bans and even demotion.
Despite pursuing officials of Dreams FC for an out of court settlement, Ismaily have sneaked in an appeal at CAS on June 28 in their latest desperate attempt to avoid payment.
The appeal at CAS will however be battled between Ismaily and FIFA with Dreams FC waiting on the sidelines with keen interest.
As a result, FIFA have written to Dreams FC through the Ghana FA (specifically the Normalization Committee) to suspend enforcement of its ruling.
John Antwi played for Dreams FC before moving to Ismaily in 2013.
He was later transferred to Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab in a deal reported to be in excess of $1.5m of which Ismaily have refused to pay portions belonging to Dreams FC.
