Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer George Amoako claims Paa Kwesi Fabin has received $50,000 as advanced payment for his new job with an unknown South African club.
Fabin surprisingly slapped in his resignation last week while talks were ongoing over his contract renewal.
Sources say the former national U-17 coach had sensed a sack on the horizon and decided to resign instead so as not to taint his record.
But Kotoko CEO George Amoako says he had knowledge the club’s former coach was deeply negotiating for a new job with an unknown South African club while still under contract with the Porcupine Warriors.
Negotiations, according to Amoako have been successful that Fabin has even received an advanced payment from the mystery South African club.
“Paa Kwesi Fabin received $50000 from that club in South Africa but he was on the media telling lies,” he told Happy FM.
The club has since set up a technical group task with appointing a substantive replacement for Paa Kwesi Fabin.
Assistant coach Akakpo Patron has since been handed temporary reigns of the team.
