The Ghana U17 team is expected back in Ghana on Sunday morning following their defeat in the finals of the WAFU Zone B tournament.
The Black Starlets lost in the penalty shootouts to arch rivals Nigeria in the finals played on Saturday.
This was after the game had ended 1-1 in regulation time.
The defeat means Ghana will not be at the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup finals to be staged in Tanzania.
It also means the Black Starlets have also lost a chance to play at the World Cup.
The defeated Starlets will return home on Sunday morning following this major disappointment.
This failure threatens to curtail Ghana’s juvenile development as qualification to major tournaments forms an integral part of development.
