Nigeria has been confirmed a finalist at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Africa Cup qualifying tournament following the dismissal of a protest from Niger.
Niger had lodged an official protest against one player of the Golden Eaglets following their semi final defeat on Wednesday.
Niger had claimed the said player’s passport had expired and thus Nigeria should be disqualified.
But the organizing committee in dismissing the protest said Nigeria has the all-clear once the player in question did not play in the match.
This means Ghana will face Nigeria in the final match as originally scheduled.
The winner of the tournament will qualify to play at the 2019 U-17 Africa Championships to be staged in Tanzania.
