The Black Queens of Ghana held their first training session on Thursday afternoon at the Baba Yara stadium.
Coach Bashir Hayford and his assistant Mercy Tagoe took the Queens through their paces and shapes.
Only 24 out of the 32 players in camp took part in the training. Some of the players weren’t able to train because of knocks and some minor injuries.
FootballmadeinGhana.com spoke to the team doctor Kate Agyemang Boakye after the training on the issues of minor injuries in the camp.
“The players are in good shape. We have a few knocks and some minor injuries that we are managing but there are no major injuries. Everything is on course for now ” she told FootballmadeinGhana exclusively.
The doctor also talked about the players who weren’t able to train this afternoon.
” Those who sat out of training today wasn’t due to medical issues. Only two players are having problems. One of them got injured at Prampram as she was using crutches but thank God she is now walking without it and the other one wasn’t feeling well that is why she couldn’t also train”
The team will today visit the Ashanti regional Minister and Chief executive officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly at 10AM and follow it up by visiting the Owner of Ashanti Gold Dr Kwaku Frimpong.
The team will then face Kumasi Sports Academy at 3:00pm at the Baba Yara stadium.
