The Black Starlets came from behind to snatch a remarkable victory over the Ivorians on Wednesday afternoon in Niamey.
The Ivorians took the lead through Seydou Traore in the 15th minute but Omar Mohammed equalized for Ghana in the 40th minute with a clever header.
Striker Tophic Shaibu grabbed the most important goal that installed Karim Zito’s side as leaders of the game with an excellent freekick effort before half time.
Starlets managed the game superbly well in the second half as the Ivorians came all out but Ghana will go on to protect their lead despite finishing the game with ten players as Eugene Frimpong was sent off fifteen minutes from time.
Ghana awaits the winner of the second semifinals game between hosts Niger and Nigeria for the grande finale.
Only the Zonal winners qualify to the Tanzania 2019 U-17 Cup of Nations.
