Red Star Belgrade have now included Rashid Sumaila in their Champions League squad following the Ghana defender’s successful registration.
The 25-year-old played no part in the Serbian giants’ qualification to the group stage of the prestigious European club competition.
This was because Sumaila arrived at Red Star at the time registration for the playoffs had long elapsed.
This means the former Mamelodi Sundowns man will now feature in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career when the competition resumes on September 18.
Red Star have been draw in a tough group alongside PSG, Liverpool and Napoli.
Rashid Sumaila joined Red Star in the summer on loan from Al Qadsia.
The defender is currently on national team duty with the Black Stars.
