Fifa unveiled – on Monday – the three final names to compete for the trophy of “The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year 2018”.
The voting period for the Award was from July 24, 2018 to August 10, 2018 and Asamoah Gyan and Kwesi Appiah, Black Stars captain and coach respectively are expected to have voted.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah are finalists . The first two won the Champions League while the Egyptian lost in the final but was elected best player in the Premier League. Luka Modric reachd the finals of the World Cup and was voted the tournament’s best player.
But there were no French world champion among the final trio as Raphael Varane, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé part of the previous 10-man list missed out.
Also there were no places for Barcelona and Argentina international Lionel Messi and PSG’s Neymar.
