Two second half goals from substitutes Obed Owusu and Emmanuel Gyamfi condemned Hearts of Oak to a second successive defeat against Asante kotoko during the second leg of the Tabea Super Clash on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors thus lifted the trophy with a 4-0 aggregate win.
Footballmadeinghana.com rated the performances of the players and marked each of them by over 10 marks over the 90 minutes.
Felix Annan (7/10) – Wasn’t tested much, did well to deny Obeng Junior earlier in the game, and was always on alert in the poles.
Amos Frimpong (6/10) – Did well to stop Patrick Razak on many occasions. He nearly caused a penalty after using his hands to clear a ball in the 18 yard box.
Augustine Sefa(6/10) – Defensively, he was good, but didn’t offer much attacking threat.
Wahab Adams (7/10) – Was bullied earlier in the game by the lanky Obeng Junior, picked himself well in the second half and formed a strong partnership with Agyemang Badu in defence.
Agyemang Badu (7/10) – Another majestic performance from the young chap, showed a lot of promise during the game. He capped up his performance with a brilliant slide to deny Patrick Razak and started the counter that resulted in Asante kotoko’s opener.
Richard Senanu (9/10) – What a player he is, provided the shield for his two center backs and won a lot of tackles in midfield which helped his team to win the game. Not surprised he won the man of the match after the game.
Micheal Yeboah (6/10) – Not the best of performances from the lad, lost the ball on so many occasions.
Prince Aquah ( 7/10)- Another Good game by the chap, he contributed a lot in the third half of the pitch and defended very well when needed.
Jordan Opoku (8/10) – Shows the reason why he still part of the team, showed his class and tantalize the midfield with a touch of gold on many occasions.
Sogne Yacouba (7/10) – Not the best of game from the Burkinabe international, he was totally marked out from the game but contributed for the first goal of the game.
Frederick Boateng (6/10) – Was picked ahead of Obed Owusu but disappointed the coach for starting him, had kotoko’s best chance of the game in the first half but couldn’t utilize it.
Substitutes
Emmanuel Gyamfi (7/10) – Came in for Micheal Yeboah and quickly made an impact in the game. He was a torn in the flesh for the Hearts of Oak left back. Put the game to bed by scoring the second goal of the game.
Obed Owusu (7/10) – Added life to the Kotoko attack and open the scoring in the 68th minutes, justified why he should always start.
Steve Nyarko (6/10) – Was brought in late but was able to register himself an assist for Asante kotoko second goal.
Hearts of Oak
Ben Mensah (7/10) – Conceded two goals which you can’t falter him for any of those. Calm in the post and produced some good saves to deny Kotoko.
Fatawu Mohammed (6/10) – Known for his strength in attack, Fatawu failed to make use of his surging forward runs in the game, his deliveries wasn’t the best.
Radji Ovouka(6/10)- A decent performance from the man, didn’t offer much in attack and was a suspect sometimes performing his defensive duties.
Benjamin Agyare (7/10) – Combine very well with Akrofi to keep Yacouba at bay in the game, dominated most of the aerial duels Against Boateng.
Richard Akrofi (7/10) – Couldn’t be blame for both Asante kotoko goals, just like Agyare, he discharged his duties very well.
Aminu Alhassan (7/10) – Another good display from Aminu Alhassan, offered a lot of defensive duties in midfield with a lot of interceptions.
Malik Akowuah (7/10) – A good first half display from the former Medeama player, he faded out in the second half after kotoko took control of the game.
Samudeen Ibrahim (6/10) – Known for his good display whenever he comes up against Kotoko but failed to replicate that performance yesterday.
Daniel Kodie(6/10)- Tasked to add strength in midfield for the team, but was outrun by the fantastic Jordan Opoku and Acquah.
Patrick Razak (6/10) – failed to show up for Hearts of Oak in the game., he was totally marked out of the game.
Kwadwo Obeng Junior (6/10) – Failed to prove why Hearts of Oak should not go into the market for another striker after showing a glimpse of his quality in the first but never look like scoring in the game.
Substitutes
Camera Nguessan( 6/10) – Couldn’t make any impacts in the game after coming on for Malik Akowuah.
Selasi Bakai ( 5/10) – Came in for Daniel Kodie in the 78th minutes, Couldn’t make any meaningful impact in the game
