The Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has today, August 29, 2018 inaugurated a seven member Sports Unit at the Office of the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Honorable Anthony K.K Sam.

The inauguration was led by MCE, Anthony K.K Sam with the Western Regional Sports Developmental Officer, Jeffery Manzah and supported by other dignitaries.

The seven member committee will be headed by former Sekondi Hassacas IMC Chairman, Eric Kwesi Essel with former National Athlete, Felix Andam, Retired FIFA Referee and Frederick Kwesi Mensah.

The others are Sports Journalist at ROK FM Kweku Sagoe, Emmanuel Budu of the National Sports Authority, Victor Fameh of the Ghana Education Service and another member, who is yet to be selected to join them.

The committee has been given a mandate to; assist in the Organization of District Sports Festival at least once every year and assist in the establishment of Sports Associations in the District, etc.
