1.Asamoah Gyan – Kayserispor
For the second game in a row this season Ghana’s all-time highest goalscorer Asamoah Gyan was an unused substitute for his club Kayserispor and it is quiet worrying. Gyan’s team drew 0-0 away at Bursaspor on Saturday during Week 2 of the 2018/19 Turkish Super Lig.
Turkish striker Umut Bulut, 35, is the first choice striker of new coach Ertugrul Salam who favors a 4-2-3-1 formation meaning he is restricted to start one striker as he has done in the games against Antalysaspor and Bursaspor but some supporters of the club have started to question the tactics of the club as to why the likes of Gyan and Artem Kravets didn’t feature in Saturday’s draw.
2.Andre Ayew – Fenerbahce
Andre Ayew, on loan from Swansea City, has started and lasted the whole duration of the two league games Fenerbahce has played so far in this current campaign.
The former Olympique Marseille forward played the full 90 minutes but could not prevent his side from being defeated by Yemi Malatyaspor at the Yeni Malatya Stadium and Ayew knows that he has to start making the minutes count.
3.Bernard Mensah – Kayserispor
Bernad has immediately grabbed the opportunity given to him by coach the experienced coach Saglam as the 23-year old Ghana international midfielder has started and lasted the whole league matches this season. Against Bursaspor last Saturday he played the whole 90 minutes in the stalemate.
Whilst his senior and teammate, Gyan, is yet to make an appearance the Atletico Mandrid loanee is rather becoming an untouchable player at Kayserispor thanks to his good performances making him one of the first names on the starting list of the Anatolian Star and whenever Saglam needed to makes substitutions Bernard never comes out, other players do.
4. Isaac Sackey – Alanyaspor
Sackey was a starter for Alanyaspor who lost 2-0 at home to Ankaragucu on Sunday night and to worsen the matters the defensive midfielder was sent off in the 52nd minute for a bad challenge on an opponent.
5. Joseph Atttaman Laweh – Istanbul Basaksehir
Istanbul Basaksehir travels to Kasimpasa on Monday August 20.
