Accra Hearts of Oak legend Amankwa Mireku has confirmed that he will be participating in the curtain raiser game between the legend of Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.

Amankwa Mireku confirmed that he and his old teammate have decided to participate in the game on Sunday to re awaken the interest of football in the country.

Asante Kotoko Will face Arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in a two legged clash at the Baba Yara stadium, the first game is scheduled to be played on the 25th of August at the Baba Yara stadium. Speaking to Zuria FM Sports on the game, the former Hearts of Oak captain confirms that he and his teammate will feature in the curtain raiser game before the main game.

“It’s true, we have decided to come and offer our support in the game” He told Zuria fm Sports.

“I have talked to Godfred Yaboah( Tv3 ) who had also confirmed his participation in the game.  Some of us have not been in the public domain for some time now; it will be good to give the fans what they have been missing”

Amankwa Mireku also lauded the management of both clubs for such an initiative.

“I think the two clubs have done well for coming up with such a game. With the fans hungry for football in the country, this is the best opportunity to give the fans something to cheer and remember” He added
