The media officer for the Black Stars “B” Kwabena Kyere has said that the achievements chalked by former Ghana Football Association president are not destroyed by the Anas corruption football exposé.
Kwabena Kyere was speaking to FootballmadeinGhana.com when he made this statement.
According to Kyere it is true that Kwesi Nyantakyi had his failures including his implication in the Anas video but the achievements of the suspended FIFA Council member are worth mentioning.
“Of course there were failures and successes during Nyantakyi’s time as the FA boss. In football the World Cup is the highest level and we qualified to it three times under him. The U20 World Cup that we won was still under him. We should not forget all these despite what we saw in the Anas video ” Kwabena Kyere emphasized.
“But then we all agree that local football was collapsing under his watch. This for me was a failure but as I said in terms of achievement Nyantakyi did a lot and that is what we must admit.” he added.
The former GFA president is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.
