Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko George Amoako says he will be looking to recruit international players from West Africa.
The experienced administrator is returning to the Ghanaian giants for the sixth time.
Amoako now comes in as the head of a newly constituted 11-member management team and is already looking to revamp the side with signings from neighbouring West African countries.
“You realize that currently in our country player who are picking up will not stay in the system for long,” he told FootballmadeinGhana.com.
“But once you are playing professional football, you can go outside and get a good quality material and sign the player professionally like it is done in Europe or anywhere else,”
“And then keep this player to work for you so your team can improve.
“I am looking at getting players from along the west coast especially because of our cultural similarities to build a winsome team for Kotoko.”
Ahmed Toure is one profound player to have been signed by Kotoko in the recent past through a similar policy.
