IMC Chairman of Sekondi Hasaacas, Paa Kwesi Essuon Arbuah has advised Government to do away with ‘selfish’ personalities who are urging the state to maintain its stance on pursuing the dissolution of the Ghana FA.
Football’s world governing body, FIFA, warned the government of Ghana over plans to liquidate the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following a corruption scandal led by an investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The IMC Chairman of Sekondi Hasaacas has described those influencing the Government to liquidate the Football Association as selfish.
“You insensitive clowns want FIFA to ban us so that footballers and many administrators become unemployed and you will continue doing your work and draw cheque every month right? Arbuah posted on social media.
“That’s a selfish thinking and I will recommend you look at the broader picture and stop this populist thinking. What stops your government from prosecuting the alleged corrupted GFA officials and leave the innocent ones to carry out their normal duties?
“Do we collapse an institution because some officials have been found guilty of a crime? Let’s stop this posture of convenient thinking and build this society as serious people.”
In a statement issued on August 13, 2018; and signed by FIFA General-Secretary Fatma Samoura, the body said it was particularly worried about government’s undue interference in the affairs of the GFA in clear contravention to FIFA statutes.
