The Government of Ghana says it wants to ‘engage’ FIFA over a threat to ban Ghana football.
The world football governing body has issued an ultimatum to the state to withdraw its court case seeking to liquidate the GFA by August 27.
FIFA in its letter to the state says it will ‘immediately’ place a suspension on Ghana if their ultimatum is not heeded to at 10am (local time) on the deadline day.
But Government in its response to FIFA did not state clearly their intention of heeding to the condition of FIFA to prevent the ban.
The state in its response to the ultimatum says it wants to meet FIFA as soon as possible to discuss the matter.
“Given the totality of the circumstances, the GoG is desirous of further engagements with FIFA, the letter signed by Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah read.
“We believe that the GoG and FIFA should meet at our earliest convenience to explore a mutually acceptable route to achieving our common goal.”
FootballMadeInGhana.com has already reported that the Sports Minister is expected to travel to Zurich later this week to meet with FIFA officials over the latest development.
