Head coach of Black satellite Jimmy Cobblah has expressed his excitement after qualifying for the next year’s African youth championship which will be held in Niger next year.
After a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Cape coast, Ghana sealed their qualification yesterday after a hard fought 1-1 draw at Cotonou.
Speaking to the media after the game, Jimmy Cobblah couldn’t hide his delight over the feat his team achieved.
“They came like wounded lions; they were a bit stronger than us in the start. But after the second half I talked to my boys to calm down. And by God’s grace we were able to come back”.
Jimmy Cobblah also touched on the troubles the team went through before the game at Cotonou.
“When you consider the kind of troubles we went through, the atmosphere and having to come from a goal down. I think the boys were determined and God helped them,” he added.
“As you can see the boys are so disciplined, and football is about discipline and before your tactics will work unless your players are disciplined,” he concluded.
The African youth championship will come off next year in Niger.
