Tampa Bay Rowdies midfielder kwadwo Poku has explained the reasons why he left Russian giants Anzhi Makachkala to join USL side Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Poku hinted that he spoke with former Chelsea star Joe Cole and he received positive feedbacks which made him to move to Tampa Bay.

“Tampa has been a good club since I came in this country, they are very popular. Even though they don’t play in the major league, they are one of the best club in the States. Everyone knows their standard and what they want to achieve ” He told Angel Sports in Kumasi

“Joe Cole explained to me the ambitions of the club and the project that they are in to. It was a difficult decision with a lot of up and downs. Clubs like Orlando were pushing for my signature but at the end I thought coming here is the best for me”

Poku has previously featured for Miami FC and New York City FC.
