Spokesperson of the Ayew family Fiifi Tackie says Andre Ayew’s transfer from Swansea City to West Ham was not bad.
The 28-year-old who has just completed a loan switch to Turkish giants Fenerbahce struggled during his short stint with the Hammers.
Ayew had arrived from Swansea in a big money move in the summer of 2017 but failed to live up to the billing mainly due to injuries.
The former Olympique Marseille man had to rejoin Swansea in January but was unable to help the Welsh club escape relegation.
Many have since considered Ayew’s time at the London Stadium as a massive failure but spokesman Fiifi Tackie insists it wasn’t.
“It was not a bad move at all looking at the injury Andre suffered since then but he still managed to play some good football for them,” he told Nhyira FM.
“I was even surprised he was able to play the AFCON because he was carrying an injury at that time.”
Ayew will be hoping to regain the form that soared his reputation at the time he was leaving Marseille in 2015 at his new club Fenerbahce.
