Lethal goalscorer of ASEC Mimosas Amed Simba Toure is set to play his first match after being named the best Burkina Faso player based in West Africa. 

ASEC are visitors of Raja Casablanca on Sunday at the Stade Mohamed V stadium on the occasion of Day-4 of the CAF Confederation Cup and their star attraction Amed Toure will be looking forward to add up to his single goal in the competition.

The former Asante Kotoko attacker beat off competition from his fellow Burkinabe and ASEC teammate Koanda Souleymane to receive the 2018 Sabot D’Or last Thursday at a soccer gala in Ouagadougou.

The Sabot D’Or, a brainchild of Issiaka Ilboudo, is an award given to the best performing Burkinabe player based in the ECOWAS region and is voted by selected journalists.

Toure’s 13 league goals in 22 games for Bechem United in the 2017 league season prompted Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas to sign him and what the striker offered after this transfer activity were 17 league goals and the Ivorian league title.

However Toure and ASEC have found it rather difficult to replicate their domestic form in Africa as the 1998 Champions league winners are flat bottom of Group A on three points.
